About Nish Niche
A women-owned fashion house based in New York City. Japanese craft meets Scandinavian minimalism. Designed in New York, finished by hand, made in counted numbers.
Our Practice

The Fabrics Come First
Every piece starts with premium Japanese textiles. Dobby cotton, organic shirring, cotton-linen blends sourced from Osaka. Chosen for how they feel on skin, how they drape, and how they age.

Atelier Production
We cut, sew, and hand-finish in New York City. Small batches. No outsourced assembly lines. Every garment gets the time it actually needs, not the time a production calendar allows.

Limited by Design
Most styles exist in single-digit quantities per size. This is what happens when you make things properly, by hand, with materials this good.

Sustainability
Small runs. Short supply chain. In-house finishing in New York. Organic cottons and natural fibers from Osaka.
Nothing is overproduced. Nothing gets discounted into a landfill. We make what we mean to make.

The Designer
Nisha Inalsingh is the founder and designer behind Nish Niche, the small contemporary atelier she launched in New York City in 2021. She started with organic woven designs and expanded into alpaca-wool knits in 2025.
Her career was built inside the New York fashion industry, producing photoshoots and runway shows for Ann Taylor, Russell & Bromley, Banana Republic, and Natori. That production background, equal parts logistics, image-making, and brand storytelling, shapes how every Nish Niche collection is designed, sampled, and brought to market.
Born in Trinidad and raised in the United States, Nisha brings a global perspective and real curiosity about craft. Outside of fashion, she wrote, produced, and directed the Icelandic documentary Huldufólk 102, which screened at more than twelve international film festivals.
